Netlogon Service Does Not Start

D

Our Terminal Server is suddenly having trouble starting
the Netlogon Service. The only clues I can find are in
the Event Log. First I get Event ID 5737 advising me that
the service failed to start. Then, I get Event ID 7024
(which doesn't really tell me much). I am not seeing any
KB article referencing this combination and am totally at
a loss. Of course I cannot browse the Internet on this
box any longer either. I have tried removing it from the
domain and re-joining the domain. But, I receive this
error "The interface is unknown". Any ideas?

-- Regarding the event id 5737 and 7024, I would like to know if you have
installed any 3rd party software onto your computer.

-- The following may help for the "The interface is unknown" error when
joining to a domain.

Resolution:
======================
1. Check if the wkst is preloaded with SBS client (if u r using SBS)
software before joining and logging
on for the first time. This installed the wspclnt (Winsock proxy client).
2. Removed the wspclnt

If the issue persist:
======================
1. Uninstall TCP/IP, File and print sharing, and Client for Microsoft
Networks
2. Back up and delete the following registry keys. (These will be replaced
when
TCP/IP is installed)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CCS\Services\WinSock2
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CCS\Services\WinSock
3. Verify there are no Non-present network adapters present using 269155
Error
Message When You Try to Set an IP Address on a Network Adapter
4. Remove all present and non-present adapters
5. Re-boot
6. Verify the NIC was successfully re-added
7. Install TCP/IP, File and print sharing, and Client for Microsoft Networks
8. You should now be able to join the domain
