.NET apps show wait cursor, then nothing?

Hi,

I'm getting a few users who report back that .NET CF applications won't run
on their machines in spite of having the CF installed. They just get the
wait cursor, then nothing, when they try to launch a .NET app. One user who
has the HP IPAQ 2215 (same device I use without any problems) has tried soft
resetting and installing SP2 for me and that didn't help either. I sent him
a "Hello World" .NET app and it wouldn't run either. Any ideas what is
happening here and how to fix the problem (without a hard reset)? It seems
to be a small but significant number of users who have this problem.
Thanks!

Hi

I had the same issue, but only with an application which used the SQL CE (when the SQL CE was used by another app). No idea about "Hello world"

Hi,

I have experienced this with PPC 2003 and SQL CE installed. I am not 100%
sure of the cause but I believe it is to do with the registry.sys file saved
on the device (Intermec). If you delete the file and cold boot, the
applications will run again.

You will have to keep testing, I found the problem area in the creation of
Dialup Connections. I don't create them when staging device, only when the
app runs and problem goes away.

Hi,

No, haven't got it fixed yet. If you would e-mail me at web AT biomobility
DOT com, you may be able to help. I'm working with someone on this and they
need some more information. Thanks.
