My win xp doesn't have IE anymore so h'm using firefox but I notice that
if I want MS updates and I go to MS directly or some other sites firefox
doesn't work. when I try to install my IE 6 the pc says a newer version
is on, I thought it meant the firefox so I deleted it and tried again
and same msg. when I go to MS it's only giving me the IE 7 beta to
upgrade from IE 6, does anyone know where I can get a IE 7 full beta?

Thank you.

Why, so you can jump from the frying pan into to the fire?

How did your pc come to not have ie7 anymore? Was it uninstalled? Or is the
shortcut simply removed from the desktop?

If neither occurred, then you probably still have the program folder for it.
If you unistall ie7, then ie6 will automatically setup on your pc again.

The problem that I know is that ie7 doesn't come with a convenient
unistallation. You need to search for the hidden unistall file for it that
is located in the windows folder.

It is one of those files with a long filename and has a dollar sign at the
beginning. Simply double clicking on the file will initiate the unistall
sequence.

To find it Open the file explorer. Be sure that in your folder options, you
are set to see hidden and system files. By default they are set to be
invisiable for the average user.

Next search your hard drive for either of the two file names: ie7 or beta

You should get a listing and if you carefully read the "lonnnggg" filename
you will see that one of the uninstall files pertain to ie7 beta..... click
and engage an you will be reverted back to ie6 afterwards.

sorry it took some time, to answer your question. i had a unattended
windows xp made and a tech who made it took out some stuff to install
the bear min. because my pc was running a little slow with everything,
so IE 6 or 7 was never installed. so i installed firefox for the better
protection, but now some sites need ie to still work, when i have my
Realtor send me houses it's not showing up in firefox so when i try to
install IE 6 it says a higher version is installed. i uninstalled
firefox and told me the same thing
