I am in the process of attempting to REPAIR XP Pro on my EVGA NF AMD 939 Desktop with a Seagate 500GB HD that has 3 Particians.
My problems started when I downloaded Microsoft Security Essentials on Dec 20 2009. My browser was Firefox3.5--..
My browser would shutdown intermittently. The latest problem occurred when I went to MS update. I did an Express install of the updates. A screen came up that stated update failed. I looked at MS update history and saw that all Security Essential Updates had Failed..
I restarted my computer and attempted to Remove Security Essentials. Then a message came up that said a .DLL file was missing. Restated again got blue screen that checked disc..
Retarted again got blue Screen... At this point I could not get in safe mode etc.
I Put my XP Pro CD in .. started Computer. The screens I get are as follows:
1. Message press F1 to continue or DEL to enter setup
2. Cdrom press any key
3. Setup is inspecting your hardware
4. A BLANK SCREEN
HELP or Suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
