Need a dot matrix printer supported by XP

Lisa

I need to use a dot matrix to print 4-part forms. I
can't find a printer driver to use with my Okidata 320
turbo that allows me to specify a custom size paper. Is
there a fix or another dot matrix printer that will work?

Thank you!

Many, many work. Probably any Epson dot matrix. I can personally vouch for
the LQ 570+

However, did you look under File > Server Properties for the place to create
a new form size? I haven't yet seen a printer that doesn't have this
feature.

I believe this printer also allows for Epson emulation. If you can't change
the form size using the method above, try the Epson drivers.

On the matter of a driver-

There is no XP printer-specific driver that I could find. There is a Windows
2000 driver.

It will probably install and work OK. Ignore any messages about driver
certification. Set a restore point before installing the driver so you can
recover is anything weird happens. Not likely but best be safe.

If this driver is unsatisfactory, remove it in the usual way. Use System
restore, if necessary. Next, check the printer documentation to see if there
is a printer it emulates. If so, determine what steps are needed, if any, to
switch the printer to that mode (sometimes it involves printer front panel
buttons or internal DIP switch positions). Do that and install the driver
for the emulated printer. Often one of the Epson or IBM models.

Let us know.
