Mystery Ethernet Card

Hi

Whilst my Motherboard was being repaired another was temporarily installed
but with a different Network Card.

Since then whenever I try to set up a Network between my PC and my Laptop I
get an message to say that my IP Address is being used by another Netwpork
Card but that it is not connected to this machine and do I wish to choose
another, warning me that the "other" device may not work if I say no. Of
course I say no and everything works.

However, Event Viewer shows an error every time I boot up with the message
"The IP Address lease {my IP Address} for network card with network address
{my existing Card's MAC identification} has been denied by the DHCP server
{my Router/Modem IP Address}. The DHCP Server sent a DHCPNACK message".

Obviously, somewhere in my system there remains a reference to this previous
loaned Network Card. Can this "reference" be removed and if so how?

Is your router set to filter on MAC address?
