my slide appears grey and i can't see pictures

My slide appears with a grey background and I do not see the elements I put
on the slide (pictures, graphs etc). I see everything ok in the slideshow but
editing the presentation is not easy. I tried reinstalling but it did not
work.
Has anybody a clue on this?
