many little arrows pointing to the right appear on slide; cannot delete

I have a presentation that i created with Powerpoint 2003. On one of
the slides, many small arrows appear on the background of the slide.
The arrows are light grey and they all point to the right. There is
no way for me to select them. They only appear on one slide; not on
any others. They are showing up in slideshow mode, print mode, etc.
Any ideas?

Are they showing on the title slide? In that case, the arrows might be on
the title master (or one of the masters if you have multiple masters).

To check, choose View | Master | Slide Master.
