slide numbers on the slide in 2007??

Hello All, I have this weird thing in PPT2007 that when slide numbers are
turned on, they appear on the slide in the normal mode and thus, are
editable and (accidently) movable by the users. How do I make the slide
numbers appear on the 'background' (as in the former versions of
PowerPoint?).

Hi Guurt

I believe this is a new feature so that you can remove them on certain
slides if they get in the way of graphics, or bring them forward in fromt of
graphics etc. I don't know of anyway to lock them down in the way they used
to be. I'm sure someone will pipe up if I'm wrong.

Don't think they can really be locked down. Placing a shape over it with fill
set to background might deter some folk.
