My IE is slowing down since firewall

I am noticing a tremendous slowing of my IE browser since the installation
of the ZoneAlarm firewall. It has worsened to the point that using the
Internet for any purpose is impossible. Is this a common occurrence? Do I
have to get rid of this firewall in order to use the Net?

I use the free version and do not have any speed problems. You need to train
Zone Alarm and you can and should check your setting for each application
that accesses the net.

Your not using an old version of ZA are you? 4.5 had this problem with
vsmon.exe.

I run ZA with no problems (version 5.5.6...)
