my folder options advanced settings are gone/deleted/missing?

Can someone help me and tell me how I can restore my Folder Options Advanced
Settings. They are all missing! Can I restore them without having to
reinstall Windows XP?

If you don't know what I am talking about there are two ways I know to open
up the Folder Options panel.

1. Start Menu>Control Panel>Appearance & Themes>Folder Options
-- then just click the View Tab and look down at a box filled with Advanced
Settings
2. Start Menu>My Documents
-- then just click Tools (in the pulldown menu) >Folder Options

In the view tab you should see Advanced Settings box filled with options and
checkboxes...but none of them are there anymore on my computer.

I need help.
