Hi, just installed the lates version of the free Rainlendar after some
prompting of friends. All was going well, and I was downloading some new
skins from DA.com, and decided to change my wallpaper after testing out the
skins.

When I went to my "My Documents" which is defaulted in Thumbnail view, I saw:

http://img509.imageshack.us/img509/5992/wthop0.th.jpg

Other places like My Computer and other folders work perfectly fine. When
uploading this image via imageshack, and I pressed to "Browse" to select the
image file, I decided to check in thumbnail view and went over to My Doc, and
it was working perfectly.

I havn't seen this before, and it happen a few minutes after installing
Rainlendar. I open up to Tools > Folder Options and to the two tabs, General
and View, and clicked Default on them in case something changed. Didn't work.

Any suggestions?
---------------------------------------------------------------

I have since restarted my computer, and the My Documents is still like so.
When i click on the folders in the "problem" my documents, and enter its
sub-folder, and put it on thumbnail view, it works ok. So its just when i
view it via the "normal" way.

So I was wondering if this is related to that program, or something. I have
yet to install SP3 btw, otherwise I have Win XP SP2, all updates.
This is a new pc, 2 months old, working perfectly till now, so I dont have
the related junk and stuff from PCs with lots of junkwares and all that.
Intel Processor, ATI Radeon 4750 GFX, and latest DirectX for Win XP.

Also, I recently installed Steam, about a few weeks ago. I don't believe
it's related tho.

It's hard to tell anything from that tiny graphic, but if it happened immediately after
you installed Rainlendar, then try uninstalling it. Failing that, do a Windows System
Restore.

See if the following helps.

Open the folder where the file names are missing.
Click on View in the toolbar at the top of the window.
Change the view settings from Thumbnails to another option such as Icons.
Next, hold down the Shift key and change the view settings back to
Thumbnails.
The names of the files should now be visible.

If that works it has nothing to do with the programs you installed recently.
Take a look at some of the results from this Google search for more info.

Good luck

Alternatively, the rainlendar link has the proper link. I'm gona try and get
the installation log or something. I just did some stuff, not to mention
finish a whole day game marathon on my new Portal game, so a restore is quite
far down the list at this moment. :S

@Nepatsfan
Thanks for the info, will test when I get back on my comp.
Hmm, didn't think such a search on google would work, hehe. And I tot i was
a above-adverage user of Google's search engine.

Thanks for replying. Anyone else have solutions while I get to trying what
Nep recommended?

Its all good now, i uninstalled it 1st, then did the shift thing, works.
Did it back and forth, interesting thing. Thankssss!!!!

Is there another way to activate it? Cos I do not change my view generally.
I use Launchy to access my documents, and thus almost never touch anything
above the address bar (back and forward buttons on mouse) for any reason.
