Saleem

hi,

I am running Office Outlook 2007 (part of enterprise edition) on Vista Business.

my contacts are not showing in my Address book but I can see them when I click contacts.

The help on the office website said that I needed to:
1.. right click the contact list that I wanted to add to my address book
2.. click properties
3.. outlook address bar tab
4.. tick the box for show this folder as an email address book
however that box is grayed out and I cannot choose it.

without this, I cannot email any of my contact nor can I add new addresses.

can some one please help.

Add the Outlook Address Book service to your mail profile in Control Panel's
Mail applet. Click E-mail Accountsd>Add a new directory or address
book>Next>Additional Address Books>Next>Outlook Address Book>Next>Finish.
Now start Outlook. You'll be able to check that box now.

Thanx but when I go there, I find Outlook address book already added to my
profile.
This is what really confuses me.

Please advise...

thank you,
Saleem

Remove the OAB service, stop and restart Outlook, then readd the OAB
service. Stop and start Outlook once more.

Create a new folder in your mailbox. Make it a contact type folder .
Rightclick it, choose properties, access the "outlook address book" tab and
see if you can activate the "show folder as email addressbook" option there.
Copy all your contacts in it if it works...

Thank you.

But where can I remove the service from. When I go to Data files and I try
to remove Outlook address book, or add another outlook address book, outlook
does not allow it.

I tried copying my profile and logging in to Outlook through the new
profile, the problem was solved with new profile. But I was hoping that I
can actually repair the existing profile, now just for the pain it caused
me...

Of course, you won't see the Outlook Address Book by clicking Data Files.
You must use E-mail accounts>View of change existing directories or address
books>Next.
