No choice to add Outlook Address Book

Erv

I'm using Outlook 2003.
Although I have contacts in my Contacts Navigation Pane, the contacts are
not showing up when I prepare email. I tried adding the Outlook Address Book
via Tools, "E-Mail Accounts", "Add a new directory or address book" and then
choosing "Additional Address Books"
However, I don't get a choice for "Outlook Address Book" - the only choice I
have is "CorelCENTRAL Address Book9"
If I open the Contacts Navigation Panel, right click "Contacts" and click
the tab "Outlook Address Book" the box to check "Show this folder as an
e-mail Address Book" is greyed out.
Can anyone help me so that my email recognizes all the Contacts in my
Contacts Navigation Panel.

Ensure that the Outlook Address Book component is installed (or reinstall
it). Go to Control Panel/AddRemove/Microsoft Office/Change/Advanced
Customisation and locate under Microsoft Outlook/Outlook Messaging
Components/Outlook Mapi Providers.

Thanks for the idea. Followed your instructions exactly. The "Outlook Mapi
Providers" were already enabled and installed, but I allowed the program to
re-install. Anyway, the bottom line is I'm back to the same problem -
nothing was corrected in Outlook to allow me to choose "Outlook Address Book."

If you have any other thoughts, I'd appreciate it.
Perhaps I have to unsinstall The Office completely and re-install the whole
program - which I dread doing.

Just checking that the "Outlook Address Book" component under "Outlook Mapi
Providers" was listed and installed. If so, I'd probably do a full uninstall
and reinstall. Sorry!

Rather than perform a reinstall over the top, try to uninstall the "Outlook
Address Book" first then reinstall it.

Your problem is obvious. You have set up WordPerfect as your default
Contacts Manager. You cannot use the Outlook Address Book until you change
that. We'll assume you know how since it is not an Outlook problem and is
something you did.

I had the same problem - but it had nothing to do with a default
Contacts manager. This is was a work computer and they had only set
me up for Global Address book.

I neeed to create the Outlook Address Book. Open Outlook and go to
Tools -> E-mail Accounts. You will see a wizard to create/change E-
mail Account and Create/change Directory or address book. Select "Add
a new directory or Address Book" and click Next. Then select
Additional Address Book and then click Next. Select Outlook address
book and click Next. A new address book for outlook will be created.
Now go to Tools -> Address Book. "Contacts" will be shown under Show
Names from: Outlook Address Book.

Then you can go back to My Contacts and choose to show in the Outlook
Address Book.

Not relevant to this thread. User cannot add the Outlook Address Book
because (s)he already set Corel as the default address provider.
