Multiple Application Errors

Hello,

Starting on August 1st I began getting Application Errors while running
multiple programs. Here is one example of the application error I receive:

"mplayerc.exe - Application Error : The exception Integer division by zero.
(0xc0000094) occurred in the application at location 0x02255583."

Also, everytime I shutdown or restart my pc I get this specific application
popup:

"SetPoint.exe - Application Error : The instruction at "0x10607128"
referenced memory at "0x10607128". The memory could not be "read".

I've gone and checked what programs I've installed withing a few days prior
to this problem and the only software I installed was Microsoft Office 2007
on July 30th and virtualdubmod on August 1st. I've since uninstalled
virtualdubmod. Virtualdubmod was the first program that I received the
application error in when trying to split a video. However, I've gotten tons
of the applicatio errors, including while in internet explorer 7.

Here's what I've done and been able to rule out:

1) I've run system diagnostics to make sure my physical memory wasn't bad.
2) I ran Microsofts memory tester and let it go 6 times through the testing.
There's no problem with my RAM.
3) I've ran spybot, ad-aware SE Plus, AVG antivirus, ccleaner (with default
items checked), and Easy Cleaner.
4) I ran office 2007 diagnostic tool and there were no problems or
conflicting programs found.
5) Error reporting has been disabled.

I'm confident that there is no spyware, malware, adware, viruses, trojans,
or anything malicious on my pc.

So, if my memory isn't bad and I don't have any mailicious viruses or
spyware, I have to assume that the issue is because of my installation of
Office 2007.

My virtual memory is set to initial size: 4000 max size: 8000. I set that
myself a few days into this problem just to rule that out.
I have disabled data execution prevention for the time being.

My memory usage (under advanced tab) is set to programs and not system
cache.

I'm hoping that someone will be willing to work with me on solving this
problem. I would prefer not to remove office 2007 or completely re partition
and reinstall windows xp.

Oh, I should say I have 2GB of RAM. I am running Windows XP SP2 and Internet
Explorer 7. I have dual Intel Pentium 3.0GHz chips.

Oh, and for some reason I had system restore turned off so I am unable to
roll back to a happier time, lol.

I hope I have provided enough information for the time being.

Please attempt to help me.

The more you say Oh the more I'm expecting trouble (hence the System Restore
turned OFF)?.

SetPoint.exe: Is a process for Logitech SetPoint Event Manager (mouse and
Keybpoard).

mplayerc.exe: Is a process for Media Player Classic (did you downloaded and
install this Player or Codec on your system to player music files?).
Located here:
C:\Program Files\Media Player Classic\mplayerc.exe
Ifr it in somewhere else then I will say you really tumbled on something
nasty and you need to make your search further!.

My work around will be for this Uninstall the Keyboard software or update it
from logitech website.

The same for the media Player, uninstall it as it is not Windows Media
Player, it is a third party player, if you want it, try to look for newer
version from the Vendor site.
Your Problem may not belong to Office 2007, it doesn't mean the newest is
the one causing the trouble in all scenarios.
HTH.

Ok, the problem was with visual c++. I had installed microsoft office 2007
enterprise and that is where all the error messages originated from.

So, MPC and Logitech had nothing to do with it. Hopefully this will help
someone down the road.

I found this out by uninstalling and reinstalling logitech's software. I
receieved a MSVCT80.dll error message and that led me to an intelligible
forum that was able to help.
