MSN Messenger Alert tab link opens IE that is "Not Responding"

Hi,

When I click on a link to an alert on the Alert tab of MSN Messenger the IE
6 window that opens appears and then freezes. The string "Not Responding" is
appended to its titlebar text.

Has anyone else experienced this and found a solution? I tried the
troubleshooting tips from the link you get after you send a report to
Microsoft, turning of ActiveX components and so on but it did no difference.
