I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Win2K doesn't
have the msconfig function. What you'll have to do is
right click on "My Computer", then "Manage". Once there,
you have to go to "Services and Applications",
then "Services". Now comes the really interesting part,
try to figure out which item to disable. Hopefully you
have a pretty good idea of what the programs are. Scroll
through the list, and when you find one: (1) if it's
started, stop it [right click and select Stop]; then (2)
disable it [right click and select Properties, then go
down to Startup Type and select Disable]. If you want an
idea of what is really necessary and what's not go to
http://www.blackviper.com/WIN2K/servicecfg.htm. He's got
a really good list of what services are necessary, and
what you can safely stop.
Cheers!
