MS spyware

Help I tried to unistall the MS spyware from a computer
using windows 2000. I used the control panel uninstall
program and now I get the following message:

STOP: 0x0000007B Inaccessible Boot Device
Setup has encountered a fatal error that prevents it from
continuing.

Ok how do I fix it now? Help

Did you make sure the program was not running before trying to uninstall it?
