MS Spyware and MCE Media Extenders

T

I have a Media Center Edition and have a Media Extender
connected to it through my LAN. When MS Anti-spyware is
loaded, the Media Extender has difficulty connecting and
staying connected to the host MCE box. I receive an Error
0020002 on the extender. Unloading MS Anti-Spyware
resolves the issue so it seems to be a compatibility bug.

Hi

From Help - Release notes.

Potential issue with Windows Media Center Extender

There is an incompatibility between Windows AntiSpyware and Windows
Media Center Extender. If you install Windows AntiSpyware on a computer
running Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005, Windows Media Center
Extender cannot establish a remote connection. If you want to connect
to a Windows Media Center Edition 2005-based computer by using Windows
Media Center Extender, uninstall Windows AntiSpyware. For more
information, see the KB article at

I have 2 extenders in the house, so I am also eager to get this fixed. Look
at the KB (which plun referenced) for the workaround.
