MCE 2005 Extender Compatibility Issue

Let me first say that I think it is great the Microsoft
is taking the lead on this issue, and that their beta
software seems to work great.

I did however notice that when I was using the Anti-
Spyware on my MCE 2005 machine (Media Center 2005), and
attempted to connect to that machine with my MCE XBOX
Extender, the extender continues to fail to connect.

As soon as I turn off the spyware, the Extender connects
with no problem and runs just fine.

Just thought I would let Microsoft know so they could
zero in on the issue and get it resolved.

This issue is one of only two noted in the release notes on the download
page for the program. Here's a KB article about it, which was published
before the beta was released:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/892374 Windows Media Center Extender cannot
establish a remote connection after you install Windows AntiSpyware (Beta)
on a computer that is running Windows Media Center Edition 2005

Great info.

I feel stupid for not reading the release notes before
hand..... I usually do so, but did not this time (guess
that will teach me :).....).

Never should have thought that I could have found
something so trivial before Microsoft did.

Thanks again

I'm as guilty as anyone about not reading the docs--I haven't read all the
help in the product. It just happened that I got in on the ground floor
looking at KB articles associated with the beta, so I knew about it.
