MS-Paint won't open

MS Paint was working fine, but suddenly now when I try to
open it, I get the XP message window saying "Paint has
encountered a problem and needs to close....."

I've used control panel to remove Paint and re-install it,
no luck. I've tried uninstalling Paint, shutting down,
restarting and installing - no luck. I've tried using the
CD to install it. Always the same message (above)

I even removed and reinstalled the whole Accessories
group. Interesting, after I re-install Accessories, the
New Programs message appears, but Paint is never hi-lited
as a new program.

Any ideas how to get Paint running again?
