MS Outlook 2000 on Windows Me

I upgraded from Outlook Express to Outlook 2000. I am able to import all info into Outlook, but cannot get Outlook to communicate to my ISP (Comcast). I've double checked my SMTP & POP settings along with the Server Port Numbers. I have confirmed these settingw with Comcast, but that is all they'll tell me (they don't support Outlook - only Outlook Express).

Outlook works until I try to send/receive, then I get the following error:
a.. An unknown error has occurred. Please save any existing work and restart the program. (Account: 'mail.comcast.net', POP3 Server: 'mail.comcast.net', Error Number: 0x800ccc1a).
Any ideas?

I don't use Comcast, but you probably are using the wrong server name. At
one ISP, it's pop.earthlink.net for incoming and smtpauth.earthlink.net for
outgoing. And you need to set up each separately to login and remember the
password.

I've never encountered a situation where OE works, but Outlook 2000 doesn't
(even if Outlook sometimes takes a bit more tweaking). I don't believe the
ISP can handle OE but not Outlook.

Nice thought, but my settings are:
mail.comcast.net &
smtp.comcast.net
as they were in Outlook Express and confirmed by Comcast.
