error code has apeared for last four days now

The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'mail.comcast.net', Server:
'mail.comcast.net', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error:
10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

I double checked everything and the checked it again. All server info is
correct. Checked it with comcast to verify and again all is correct.

Outlook Express seems to having issues with more than just me.

Are you using OE or Windows Mail in Vista? This newsgroup is for the latter.

This sort of problem can be caused in WM by mail scanning by some AV
Applications, what AV do you use?

Since you are sure that they are correct, I suggest removing the account,
and rebuilding it, after closing and reopening WM.
You will not lose any mail.

Thanks for reply Marc: Read through previous post regarding subject and
already tried the rebuilding process. Comcast tech made me go through this as
well. Still same result.

Oh never changed anything prior to the error code and that includes updates
from Microsoft.

Rebooted system! Email now works----->no error code

The problem will likely come back. If it does, let us know which antivirus
you are running. Some of them are not fully compatible with Windows Mail.
