Mozilla takes over

B

Ben Stevenson1

I downloaded Mozilla Firefox yesterday to try it out and have an alternative
in case of IE problems. But every link I click on in OE is opened in
Mozilla. I can't open it in IE. How can I have choice? I checked and my
home page remains in IE.
TIA

Hi Ben :)

Try the following and see if it helps:

OLEXP: How to Configure Outlook Express to Open Links in E-mail Messages in
a New Browser Window
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q256953/

or......

Open IE>Tools>Internet Options>Programs tab> check the box next to Internet
Explorer should check whether it is the default browser. If it is checked
already, uncheck it, click Apply and Ok out. Close IE, then reopen it. If
you get a message asking if you want IE to be your default browser, click
Yes. IE should then be your default browser and all OE links should open in
IE.

If these steps do not resolve your problem, please post back to this thread
with the details and any error messages.

Hope this helps

Thanks for your response.
The KB link does not show anything for XP. Its seems quite complicated to do
too.

Did the second part of your instructions, but when I opened IE again, there
was no message box asking if I want IE to be my default browser. The box you
indicated remains unchecked.

Ok...then go ahead and check the box, click apply, close IE, then try the
links and see if they will open in IE.

Still the same. Mozilla is still the default browser. I have uninstalled it.
Thanks for your help
