Moving 2 pics to make one

I have two separate jpeg pictures that I would like to combine into one side
by side. Is there a way to do this? I actually want to use the new pic as
wallpaper with both pics on it. If anyone knows hpw to take two pics and put
them on your desktop as wallpaper, that might save some work.

I dont have a scanner so scanning the two pics together wont work.

As always appreciate your help.

Maybe MS Paint would be your solution.

Open one image in Paint and left click / drag
the right handle to create a larger canvas.
You will see white space.

Now go to...Edit / Paste From....browse
to and select your other image. Left click
/ drag (4 way arrow) the second image
into position.

File / Save as...choose a save folder and
a new name / Save.

Also...the freeware IrfanView can combine images.

Download IrfanView 3.95
http://www.tucows.com/preview/194967.html
(get the plug-ins too)

Once you have IrfanView downloaded
and installed...open it and go to...
Image / Create Panorama Image...

Left click the "Add images" button and
browse to the images you wish to combine.
When the file names of your chosen images
are visible in the "Input Images" pane...left
click the "Create image" button.

You will see your combined image in the
view window.

Now...go to....File / Save as...choose a save
folder and give the file a name....Save.

To use the file as wallpaper...open the image
and right click it...from the menu ...choose...
Set as desktop background.

I would use a Photoshop type program such as the original version or
Elements which is a lot cheaper.
Put one picture on Layer 1 and then put the 2nd picture on layer two.
That way you can do anything you want with each picture and move it to
the correct place and then when you save it you can combine the layers
and it will be just like a regular jpg. I did the same thing. I took
our wedding picture and our 50th anniversary picture and put them side
by side and then printed them up. It came out excellent. Just like a
pro. ha
