Movies are in chunks, only plays a portion of long ones?

Hi,

I am running XP Pro and I have noticed that my movie files are not playing
correctly all of a sudden.

For example, if a video is 97MB and 13 minutes long, Windows Media Player
may show it as only 1:20 long.

It will play for a minute and 20 seconds with full audio/video, but when
gets to 1:20, it then only plays the audio for the rest, and updates the
video every 10 seconds or so with a static image.

Also, when starting the move for the first time, if I browse/FF to a part in
the middle of a movie, it then seems to start where it should (in this
example, 6.5 minutes) but then only continues for the 60 more seconds (half
of the original 1:20)

I hope I am making sense. Basically, the entire file is there, but I can
only play portions of it at a time.

Any ideas

That should mean that your file was rejoined poorly. If you run it through
a good file editor, it should work correctly.
