move xp pro to new computer

i am building a new comp and want to load my xp pro on it. i want to replace
the os (xp pro) on this comp with media edition. how can i do this without
having to buy a new copy of xp pro for my new comp? thanks

Can't do. OEM versions are bound to the hardware on which they were
registered.

Since media edition is esentially xp pro with media addons why not install
that on new PC

Assuming a retail license (OEM licenses are not legitimately
transferable), simply remove WinXP from the computer it is currently on
and then install it on the new computer. If it's been more than 120
days since you last activated that specific Product Key, the you'll most
likely be able to activate via the Internet without problem. If it's
been less, you might have to make a 5 minute phone call.
