mouse wheel

probably pretty simple. Before a re-install of XP home, I could move my
mouse wheel from left to right, and the browser page would scroll from
left to right. How can I make it do this again? Intellimouse optical
wireless 2.0

Have you reinstalled Intellimouse Software?

Thanks for the tips, folks, but that still didn't do the trick. Should
I use a different mouse setup, perhaps? I'm using the one for this
mouse, but sometimes that doesn't work. It gives all sorts of options.

Hum, it should work. Did you ENABLE the tilt-wheel inside the mouse
control panel? Does the mouse control panel correctly ID your mouse
model, as written on the bottom of the mouse? The latest driver 5.4/5.5
does a much better job of removing any old left-over mouse driver crap,
that's usually the cause of mouse issues; there is a KB artical about
doing that manually if you want to undertake that [typically only required
when moving from one brand to another tho]. Do you also have IntelliType
installed? If so they should be at the same version level, and install
TYPE before POINT [especially if the kb has a scroll wheel too].

no, I do not have Intellitype installed, it's not a Microsoft keyboard.
Tilt wheel is enable (I un- and re-enabled, just to be sure. The
keyboard does not have a scroll wheel. What do you think? Unistall and
re-install Intellimouse, or can you think of anything else? I'm
baffled, and it seems like such a small thing, but I miss it (sniff).

Can't hurt to try the install again, I guess.

Just to let you know, as is the case with all Microsoft products, erase
and start over actually works. All is well! Reinstall did the trick.
