mouse click sounds

This may be a dumb question but lately everytime I use my mouse to "click" on
something (such as the posts in these newsgroups as an example) I get a
clicking noise - it is more annoying than anything else and I can not seem to
find a way to "shut" this sound off. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank
you.

Go to Control Panel > Sounds and set "None" (from pull-down menu)
for "Complete Navigation" and "Start Navigation", then click "apply".
