monitor drivers

i just bort a Sharp LC-32GD8E 32" 1366 x 768 widscreen LCD, i
conected it to my dell dimension 2350 but the screen has black bars
either side, ie the computers output isnt widescreen iv got to the
menue where you change the pc resolution but non of the options are
wdescreen. i wondered if there is any drivers i could download to let
me output at 1366 x 768

Does the monitor itself have any buttons where you can change the
settings. You should be able to change the horizontal settings there.

Once you have the correct and updated drivers for your graphics card, your
monitor should be automatically recognized.

My recent experience with a widescreen Samsung LCD was that it required
installation of monitor driver before the widescreen formats were available
in display properties.

This must be provided by Sharp, in your case. That device is actually a TV,
not marketed as a computer monitor, and there appears to be nothing for
support of it on the Sharp UK website. Didn't the instruction manual give
any information? Was there any CD with installation software?
