Modified date changed on sent items with Blue i

Hi, I have a user who cannot archive her sent items as the modified date has
been changed on most of her sent items. It seems that all of her sent items
that have the open envelope with a blue i as their symbol have had the
modified date changed. AFAIK, the blue i means she has read reciepts
switched on for the messages, but that does not explain why their modified
date has been changed to a date usually todays date.

what is the date of the last receipt received? did she view the items today?
