MMC TV hangs with hyperthreaded P4

I seem to be having the problem of the TV hanging in WinXP Pro with a
hyperthreaded P4 as described in Microsoft Knowledge Base Article -
817589.
Does anyone have this patch downloaded? Microsoft of course wants $35
to get the patch under the guide that they "might, at the discretion
of technical support staff" not charge me.. Bastards...
