MMC console

Everytime I try to run any MMC related program I get the message:
MMC can't open file (f.i) C:\windows\system32\perfmon.msc.

Can anyone help with this.
I've ran several anti virus programs but as far as I can see there's no
virus involved or spyware. I also used the PC tools program Register
Mechanic. Without any results.

Can anyone help me??

Have you checked in Widows Explorer to see that perfmon.msc is located
where it is supposed to be.

Go to Start, Control Panel, Folder Options, View, Advanced Settings and
verify that the box before "Show hidden files and folders" is checked
and "Hide protected operating system files " is unchecked. You may need
to scroll down to see the second item. You should also make certain that
the box before "Hide extensions for known file types" is not
checked.Next in Windows Explorer make sure View, Details is selected and
then select View, Choose Details and check before Name, Type, Total
Size, and Free Space.

Searching from Windows Explorer opt to Search My Computer, enter the
file name and check Advanced Options and the top three options from
the drop down menu under Advanced Options.
