W

Wayne B.

I recently (accidentally) deleted the "Show Desktop" icon
located on the quick launch toolbar (on the taskbar).

Does anyone know how to restore this?

Thx,

Wayne

Hi Wayne,

Manual Edit:

Copy and paste the five lines below into Notepad.

[Shell]
Command=2
IconFile=explorer.exe,3
[Taskbar]
Command=ToggleDesktop

Then save it as Show Desktop.scf and drag it to your quick launch bar.

Automated Edit:

Restore/Add Show Desktop to Quick Launch (Line 61)

To create a Minimize All Programs shortcut for your desktop or taskbar:

Create a shortcut on your desktop with the following path then drag it to
your taskbar if you want it there.

"C:\Documents and Settings\[yourusernamehere]\Application
Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\Show Desktop.scf"

<snip>

Use double quotes - "Show Desktop.scf" -
otherwise you'll get - Show Desktop.scf.txt -

FWIW. WinKey + D works just like Show Desktop.
