Shortcut icon on task bar for Desktop

Hi. My shortcut icon for "Desktop" vanished off my quick-launch taskbar last
night and we can't figure out how to create a new one. Right clicking on
Desktop in Windows Exp does not show Create Shortcut. How do we get this
shortcut back?

TIA

Open notepad

Copy this and paste it into notepad:-

[Shell]
Command=2
IconFile=explorer.exe,3
[Taskbar]
Command=ToggleDesktop

Save it to this folder:-

C:\Documents and Settings\Your User Name\Application
Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch

with the name:-

Show Desktop.scf

OK I did that. Now how do I get the Desktop shortcut Icon to appear since
nothing happened?

Thank you, but this worked. I copied and pasted it here from another group

Are you sure you copied it into the right folder? To make absolutely
sure, the other way is to save it to your desktop then hold down right
button on it, drag it to the quick launch bar and select "Move here".

Is the quick launch bar activated? If not you will not see it. Right
click on a vacant area of the task bar and select "Tool bars" and see
if there is a tick next to "Quick launch". If not, select it to put a
tick there.
