missing SHDOCVW.dll after automatic updates

C

Chad

I installed the automatic updates a couple of weeks ago
and when the updates where finished the system had to be
rebooted. When done rebooting the system came back to the
users screen. When I clicked on my icon I got the
following error message:
Explorer.exe unable to locat component. This application
failed to start because SHDOCVW.dll was not found.
Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

My question is on which CD can I find that dll file and
into what path do I place it so that I only have to reload
the dll file and not have to reformat and reinstall
windows.
Once the error message is cleared I only have the
background screen and cannot raise the toolbar or menu
options. The only access to the system is throught the
control alt delete, then browse a hard drive or CD. Most
microsoft oriented programs will not start. Some of my
other software will start by this method.
My email address is (e-mail address removed)
Thanks for any help
Chad
