When I select an entry in add or remove programs, I get file size, last used
and frequency but no remove button.

Any help is much appreciated.

You need to edit the registry.

[HKLM\Software\MicrosoftWindows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\(ProgramName)]

Locate and double-click "NoRemove" and change the value to 0. Perform the
same steps for "NoModify"

Thanks for your reply. That part of the registry only has about 20 entries
and these are programs which do have the "remove" button in add or remove
programs.
It seems that any program that I have installed in very recently are fine.
Also I have some entries which seem a little strange like "copy" "fax" and
"scan" with only rarely used displayed.

Thanks for your help.
