missing or corrupt system file

blaine

When I turn on my laptop, I get a message that
says "Windows couldn't start b/c the following file is
corrupt or missing: \WINDOWS\SYSTEM 32
\CONFIG\SYSTEM" "You can attempt to repair this file by
starting Windows Setup CD-ROM. Select 'R' at the first
screen to start repair.
I have tried just about everything.I don't have the
original copy. I've tried using a different copy,I tried
using a downloaded boot disc...My computer won't start up
in "safe mode".Nor will it start up in anything else. Is
there ANYTHING I can do???

I have not an answer for you and I have the same problem.
But I have an ORIGINAL copy and it doesn't halp either
and greed Microsoft doesn't give a damm.
I found a way around; I purchased a program called
RestoreIt and whem Windows doesn't start with that stupid
message, I apply the "restore it" system.
If you're going to aquire "RestoreIt" be sure to buy the
full program. I didn't pay attention and was robed; the
the program I bought is an avaliation only.
