Glad you got it worked out; that's the main thing.

There is an excellent article on how to restore restore. But I don't even
know where I saves it now.
I'm sure it was clear as a bell to you

Actualy yes:

Subject: Missing Control Panel feature?

Body: I cannot find Performance & Maintenance, no Drive Settings, no
slider anywhere.

That seems clear as bells and glass, plain as the nose on your face, etc.,
etc. I can only guess at why people were determined to think it was all
about something else. It moggles the bind.

Thanks

I have two laptops available, right now. Newer HP Pavilion dv2210 has one
Windows key on the same row as the [Space_Bar]. Older Toshiba Tecra has a
Windows key on the top row, near the Pause/Break key. But I suppose a
different brand might not have a Windows key at all.

I have a T42 ThinkPad, made to run business applications all day every day
until the cows come home and the Martians land. In that world Hot/New is a
foreign language and robust is taken for granted, which suits me just super
fine.
