Microsoft Sucks!

I have used every Windows OS ever made, I Have used Mac OS X, and I have
experimented with Linux. I can say, beyond a reasonable doubt, that Microsoft
Sucks!

Not to mention that the original Windows Operating System was nearly a clone
of the first Mac OS. Bill Gates didn't even write DOS for crying out loud, he
bought it from someone else, and relicensed it.

Bill Gates is nothing more than an intelligent businessman, but Apple
Computers are increasing in popularity and if Microsoft doesn't stop sucking
some time soon, they will be beaten in the end.

He didn't take my money, I bought a Mac from eBay. Funny thing is, it's 5-6
years old, and runs the latest software. Show me a 5-year-old PC and you have
a paperweight.

Also, have you used Mac or Linux, how do you know that Microsoft doesn't
suck if you don't know what else is out there?

I'm running XP Pro SP2/2K Advanced Server/Fedora Core 3 on a Asus A7V
motherboard/750 MHz Duron/384 MB RAM no problem. I haven't added anything
apart from a USB 2.0 card since building it in 2001.

I run NT 4/2k Advanced Server/2K Pro on a Pentium II 233/256 MB RAM from1997
no problem. I also run similar on a Celeron 433/320 MB from 2000.

No, actually I've been using legal versions.

As a child I had 3.1-3.11, then 95, and now XP. School computers have been
running 2000 and NT, and my brother has had 98 and ME on his laptops.

Also, I don't see you defending the accusations I've been making, only
falsly accusing me.

I wouldn't be to sure about Mac. They just replaced all the Apple stuff at
my daughter's middle school with Windows OS.

BTW my ASUS TUSL2-C shop built is over 5 years old and purring right along
on Windows XP. Three SCSI 10K rpm hard drives trowel the data around pretty
good.

Schools replace computer systems by what's cheapest, not what's best to use.

I have a computer nearly 6 years old running Windows XP well.
Your experiences seem far to narrow for you to judge anything.

I didn't just arbitrarily decide to come in here and raise a fuss. I came in
here after spending long hours trying to resurrect my friend's PC and
failing. I was very angry so I started this post.

First of all, the title "Microsoft Sucks!" is not an intelligent comment,
however, it demands attention. I wanted attention, so I had to come up with a
title that would get it.

Second of all, My computer was manufactured in 1999 with a 350MHz processor.
I have not yet upgraded it but it can be done. I have friends who have older
systems and are still running well.

Would you care to explain to me how it is able to run the latest software on
little hardware while my newer Windows PC, with a 1.3GHz processor is
struggling with XP and never ceases to enrage me for some stupid little
reason.

Nothing in this world is without flaw. Microsoft, however, is more flawed
than most alternatives.

And XP is not really a new Operating System. Windows has barely changed over
the years. Even one of the screensavers I have on XP has been on Windows
Operating Systems since 3.1 and possibly earlier.

Apple Computer actually improves upon their technology with every OS
release. Microsofts OSes simply crave more system resources and look prettier
with each new release.

Perhaps I do not have first-hand experience with that school in particular,
however, I know this from experience.

Example: The school district which I currently attend recently purchased
some brand new Gateway laptops for the teachers. These laptops freeze often
and constantly reboot during presentations. I've spoken to many of the
teachers including the network/technology administrator, none of them like
these laptops, they wanted different ones, however, they got the Gateways
because they were the cheapest. I often refer to them as "Craptops." The
teachers agree with me.

1. You have a PC problem
2. You were angry
3. You come here to a forum that may be able to help with your problem
4. You say "Microsoft Sucks" and nothing else that can give anyone a clue
what the problem is.

What accusations have you been making? Really the only thing you've said
was that MS sucks, but without anything to back it up. I love to bash MS
as much as the next guy but at least I just don't make some blanket
statement about it without some evidence to go along with it.
