microsoft shared fax client denying xp upgrade

I was wondering if anybody could help me. I am trying to
upgrade from windows me to xp. But when I try to install
it , it says it is blocked by Microsoft shared fax client.
It says I must delete this program by running add/remove
programs. But it does not list it there and I have not
been able to find it anywhere on my computer to date.
Could someone who has knowledge of this please offer their
help. Thank you

I have been trying to reinstall windows XP after failing to successfully
install XP2.
I now have the same issue with Microsoft Shared Fax Client.
Someone emailed me to find and delete, FXSCLNT.exe file.
I deleted the file but it did not solve my problem.
