Hi wonder if someone can help

problem_description : installing windows xp service pack 1 from
microsoft update site have hit an error message as follows while the
instalation wizard was backing up files.

COPY ERROR
SETUP CANNOT COPY THE FILE NTOSKRNL.EXE.
ENSURE THAT THE LOCATION SPECIFIED BELOW IS CORRECT OR CHANGE IT AND
INSERT "WINDOWS XP SYSTEM FILES" IN THE DRIVE YOU SPECIFY.
Then says COPY FILES FROM c:\windows\driver cache\i386 in the drop down
menu.

Hp suggested c:\windows\i386 this did not work either.
I have looked in the the folder and the file does exist.

Many thanks in advance hope someone out there can help

Have you tried
"Insert "Windows XP System Files" in the drive" ?

Maybe inserting "Windows XP System Files" in the drive,
when instructed, might help.
