Microphone volume adjustment

Where is the microphone volume adjustment control?
Using Control Panel I found an "sensitivity control" and "balance"(I'm
translating becouse my Windows is in Brazilien Portuguese), but none of this
is the same volume adjustment that can be found at Windows XP with the
"Mixer".
The microphone sound now is too low in comparation with the volume I have
with Windows XP in other machine (with the same microphone). I put the two
available adjustment ("sensitivity" and "balance") at the maximun (+20,0 dB
and +10,5 dB) and still too low...

I'm using Windows Vista Home Premium 32 with Intel DG965RY - Audio Sigmatel
92XX on board.

In this card, which is not the same as yours, I right-click on the
speaker icon, and see a level control under the RECORDING
TAB|PROPERTIES|LEVEL tab

Fernando:

It sounds like you already have the volume level cranked all the way up
and are, nevertheless, still experiencing a low-volume microphone
problem, as am I, and others, as well. I'm running Vista Ultimate 32
with Intel DP965LT with Sigmatel on board, but have the same problem
even using a SoundBlaster Audigy SE sound card with the latest Vista
drivers, so the problem is not limited to Sigmatel audio. I've
troubleshooted this problem up and down to no avail, thus far, and you
can read through a discussion of it, if you like, in the Creative
Discussion Forums at:
