I inadvertantly activated messenger, and now want to disable. I have no plans for ever using it. Any help out there???

The following are instructions to COMPLETELY remove version 4.7 Windows Messenger. To do so, close down Messenger (right click the messenger icon in th
notification area/system tray and click close). Then click the start button, then click Ru
and type in (copy-paste if you like)
RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remov
Then click OK

Then reinstall from http://messenger.msn.com/?client=

To remove Windows Messenger 5, first make sure that Windows Messenger is shut down
(right-click its icon in the notification area/system tray, and choose Exit), then click
Start, then Run, and type or copy and paste in the following
msiexec /x {4A432C6C-1E20-4266-95D1-5782349C6C62
and then click OK
