Menus and Hover/Rollovers Slow in FP2003

I built a menu system originally in FP2000. Now I am
using FP2003, where they supposedly made some big changes
for Hovers/Rollovers. My buttons DO work, the the
performance is horrible!

to see for yourself. If my FP2003 making use of "old
FP2000" technology"? If so, how can I speed things up so
these buttons actually "react" immediately when I hover my
mouse over them?

The images aren't being preloaded, they
are being called from the server during mouseover.
That is why there is a delay.

I don't think it's a FP issue, but a "preload" script issue.

How do I "preload" them? My Microsoft Press FP2003
lists "preloading a new feature of hover buttons..."

There is already a preload script on your
page. However it doesn't "appear" to be
functioning properly.

Just be careful when creating your buttons to set a consistent location for FP to save the images to
