Memorex CD-RW

I have been using memorex cd-rws to burn info from my computer. They are
700MB, 80 minute, 8x-12x high speed. The other day I picked up some cd-rws
that are 700MB, 80 minute, 24X ultra speed. When I try to use them I keep
getting a message that says that the files could not be copied and the cd is
unuseable. I tried the old ones again and they work. Is there some reason I
can't use the new cds. Is there some way I can make them work on my computer
or am I out of that money?

If you CD burner doesn't write at that speed, then they are useless. You
might try going to the burners web site and see if there is a firmware that
might be available for 24X.

It could be that your drive won't work with that speed of CD-RW or it
just doesn't like those disks.

Check your CD Burner's manufacturer's site for a "firmware" update.
