McAfee VirusScan on Win XP

Hi,

For the past few months, I have been using McAfee VirusScan on both of my
home computers because it is free through my ISP. Every few days, a little
message would pop up on my screen about updating. A few days ago, I actually
looked at it. It told me an update was available, and it gave me 2 options:
update now, and continue what I was doing. I clicked 'update now.' It opened
my default browser, Mozilla Firefox, and went to the McAfee website and gave
me an error page stating there was a problem with the server. Now, I know I
have to use IE to download anything for any McAfee product, but I don't know
how to get VirusScan to open IE to download the updates. And I am almost
positive that the server error page that I get in Firefox is because it is
Firefox and not IE. So, how do I fix this?

Thanks in advance,

Firstly, those updates come in daily Monday - Friday. Set I.E. as your
default browser for the next one, Monday and see what happens.
Go into IE and then Tools/Internet Options/Prgrmas and check "Internet
explorer should check to see whether it is the default browser". Then open
IE and check Yes when asked.
