Dear all,

First question:
Can we by any chance increase the number of connections that windows XP
professional hold? as I know, the maximum number is 10, can we increase that?

Second:
How can I count the number of connections on the server if was XP
professional? I need to know whether I am reaching the maximum or not,
Thanks!

I don't think that's possible.

Open the Computer Management console (Start > Run > compmgmt.msc).
Click Shared Folders, then click Shares and look under "# Client
Connections".

XP was never designed to ever be used as a server. XP Pro has a 10
connections (not just 10 other different PCs) "physically" in its core
files. If you need more onnection, you need to consider a true
server. Serveral server option can be:

1) Window Server
2) Any Linux server
3) Central network hard drive (Snap Server) -- These do not nromally
use Windows XP Pro as its operating system.
