I tried it that way and didn't really like the way it worked but maybe I
can get used to it? I haven't booted to XP today so I couldn't check the
date and time.

Well, it's a change that is here to stay. Keep an eye out for a tweak that
may or may not appear; do what you have to until then.

The date and time setting surprised me on one of my own systems. It was a
new build, hardware and software, and hadn't yet checked that setting.
Instead I headed right off to Windows Update only to have it fail. The
error message wasn't really clear about what was wrong either. Once I got
my date/time current, I tried WU again and it worked without a problem.
