Hi everybody,
My Mailwasher trial just expired and when I tried to use the Free limited
version I got the message:
"Unfortunately the 'Free Registration' offer has expired. To use all the
great Spam fighting features in MailWasher Pro, please upgrade to the full
version of MailWasher Pro. You will be redirected to the MailWasher Pro
purchase page in five seconds."
The don't give the free version anymore??? Does anyone have a link to their
latest free limited version? Thank you!

* manage different senders and signatures (even with only one
mailbox);
attach files and documents;
* listen to audio files and watch videos using the built-in mini

It looks like the Liteware version is gone - also the program is being
moved to a new site. New owner?

The last freeware version is PW2004:

You may need to really eradicate the prog before installing the old version
that Susan pointed you to, depending how determined the new version of M/W
is to prevent reinstallation - some progs try to prevent continued
reinstallation of trial versions.

Uninstall the current version, If the old version won't instal then,
run/find all files named mailwasher and delete, run regedit, edit>find all
references to mailwasher and delete.

Check computer reboots (mine has never failed after this sort of treatment)
if not scanreg/restore.

Then the old version should install ok

This raises a question -- is there another program, clean
freeware, that does the same thing as Mailwasher? It's really
easy to use, but it flakes out on me from time to time.

And importantly [for me]; Knows about IMAP accounts - the free
MailWasher prog doesn't appear to :(

I love it when you don't say "begs the question"!

I've tried quite a number, and haven't yet found one as easy and quick.

There was one very like m/w, with straightforward view and delete off the
server, but that was a sort of emergency mode, and did not provide rules
for premarking for deletion like m/w does

It's main mode was some sort of bayesian recognition by analysis of header
and body, which is a PITA, any m/w user knows you can spot 99% of spam with
just a header.

I would quite like to change, as I'm always a bit uneasy using progs which
have gone payware, but I've not found one to touch m/w.

Unless someone knows better

G-Lock SpamCombat is pretty good but I don't know where/if a freeware
version is still available anywhere.

Thanks for the answers. It's not a problem uninstalling, I had it installed
with Total Uninstaller so this will clean up every trace so that I could use
the older version.
It's a pity they stopped the free version.

More like "new methods to increase the sales".
